Welcome everyone to the August edition of Dipadees eNews. It has been absolutely fantastic to see you all continue your swimming lessons during the winter months.
Did you know we have heaters around the pool?
An upright heater in the outdoor viewing room, there are two heaters on the back wall near the change rooms and the indoor viewing room is heated also. Please ask the team to turn them on for you if you need. Great for drying off your children after their lesson.

Our caring Teachers
Thank you for your support for our teachers when they are away, we appreciate it. We are very lucky at dipadees to have a great team of teachers, most of which have been with us for years. This means your children will see a familiar friendly face at lessons, even if their regular teacher is away.

World Drowning Prevention Day
On Tuesday 25th July it was World Drowning Prevention Day. Dipadees Swim School promotes a safer world for everyone to swim.
We have a colouring picture available at reception, so please pick one up on the way through.
Remember to supervise your children around the water!

EKKA SHOW HOLIDAY

There are many benefits for parental participation in your baby and toddler swimming lessons. Maximum practice time in a safe supervised lesson. The one on one assistance from the parent gives the child the time they need for their learning progression. There is less waiting for their turn so the child can continue practicing their skills at their own pace.

"Swimmers under the age of 4 still need a lot of manipulation. This forms excellent neuromuscular patterns, also known as muscle memory. If parents are manipulating correctly, they will produce great quality swimmers by the time the child transitions into a Learn to Swim class on their own."  Laurie Lawrence

Our Mums and Bubs Pool Play Time is the perfect opportunity to practice all the skills you are learning during your swim lessons with your baby. Or you may just want to play and bond with your baby in the beautiful heated pool.

Staff Profile - Pam (Accounts)
How long have you been working at Dipadees? Almost 9 years
What is the funniest experience you have had while at work?
I work off site, so all my laughs are generally on the phone with customers. Often about the trials and tribulations of parenthood!
Describe one of your favourite memories at Dipadees?
It would have to be as a customer taking part in the baby classes with my little ones. It was just so beautiful being in the water with them in those early years.
What was your first job?
My first job was as a young teen in the reception of a swim school. I’ve done many different things since then but have come full circle and find myself back at a swim school again!
Where are you from?
I was born in Melbourne but grew up in Rockhampton. I’ve been a Brissy girl for many years now though (after doing the expat thing in London and Europe for 3 years).
What do you do in your spare time?
Spare time? What’s that!? I may binge on Netflix very late at night when I should be sleeping.
Do you have any hobbies?
I love to cook. Also love reading and travel but those two things seem to have gone on the backburner since having kids.
Can you play any instruments?
I can punch out a couple of tunes on the recorder if that counts! And still remember one tune on the piano from when I was a kid. But that is the limit of my musical ability unfortunately.
