Hi everyone,  We hope you all enjoyed the recent Easter break and made the most of the wonderful weather for the school holidays. ​

Thank you everyone who entered feedback for the survey and congratulations to our winners of the $50 credits - Kieran Hearley, Akiko Baron and Bronwyn Telford-Herdman! We have now implemented some improvements and changes due to the feedback received from everyone.

Make up Tokens - MORE FLEXIBLE POLICY starts 1st May. You asked and we have listened! Dipadees now offer unlimited make up tokens and you will have 90 days to redeem these tokens. To receive a token your child must be marked absent in the customer portal at least one hour prior to their lesson time. This will mean you will see improved availability of make up spots to choose from moving forward. If you need assistance on how to mark your child absent in the portal please email [email protected] and we can help.   

Skills - You will be able to view your child's progression through the Evaluations tab on your customer portal.  This feature on skills is a great way to see what your child is working on during the lessons.

2. Click on 'Baby and Toddler', 'Learn to Swim' or 'Mini Squad'
3. Click on each class level to display the skills

​Progress report - We are very happy to give you a report on your child's progress.  Please email [email protected] and we will communicate with the teacher and give you a personal phone call to discuss progression.

Extra seating has been put out around the pool.  Please let us know if you would like a chair to sit on while watching the lessons.

Car Park - We are working on solutions to help with entry and exit to the top block car park as well as the steepness / loose gravel.  

Bathroom improvements are also in the pipeline as we endeavour to make these areas more child friendly.

Junior Mini Meet

​Our Junior Mini-Meet is perfectly suited to our Rockets, Arms and B1 students. With teacher assistance in the water, the children will be encouraged to participate in a range of races and activities that suit their ability. It’s a great opportunity for the children to show off what they have learned and mingle with their peers. 

When: Saturday 6 May, 12pm-1pm
Where: Dipadees pool
Who: Rockets, Arms and B1 swimmers
What: Variety of races and activities, followed by a family swim
Cost: $5 per swimmer
(includes sausage sizzle)

Staff Profile - Miss Jo
​How long have you been working at Dipadees? Just over 2 years.
What is the funniest experience you have had while at work?
I can't recall off the top of my head but the kids come out with the funniest things. Although Georgina putting her car keys in the fridge was pretty funny.
Describe one of your favourite memories at Dipadees?
Any time a child says "I did it" with a look of pride on their face just makes my day.
What was your first job?
Receptionist at an accounting firm.  I had to answer the phone: "Good morning, Murray Winder your Worry Minder, Joanne speaking" It was a mouthful! 
Where are you from?
Christchurch, NZ
What do you do in your spare time?
I'm a bit of a clean freak, so if I have nothing to do I often will just find something to clean.
Do you have any hobbies?
Reading, gardening, music, SUP, Singing
Can you play any instruments? 
I play the piano and ukulele. I'm trying to teach myself the harmonica and guitar but keep giving up.  I think I find something to clean instead. LOL oh and the recorder, Does that count?

Level Profile - "Breathers 2"

​I'm 7 years or older and can swim 12 metres with freestyle arms while taking several correct side breaths.  I will start to increase the number of breaths I can take to extend the distance I can swim.  My teacher will correct and refine my skill and swim drills will help to build my strength and endurance.

I will enjoy learning Breaststroke and butterfly kick in preparation for moving to our Super Dipper stroke development group.  I will also need goggles at this level as I begin to increase the distance I can swim.

Flippers are fun and I'll love using them for some drills.  We have caps, flippers and goggles  available at our swim school.
Now able to swim a little further, Breathers 2 enjoy our regular race nights.​

We will be closed on Monday 1st May 2023 for the Labour Day public holiday.
Learn to swim customers are not charged for lessons that fall on a public holiday. ​
